16/04/2016 11:42
A few grade 2 and 3 boys suggested that I read "Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot" books by Dav Pilkey and Dan Santat. After reading "Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot vs the Mutant Mosquitoes from Mercury", I can see why they like them. The illustrations are vivid and the protagonist (main character) is a...
A New Favourite
17/03/2016 15:20
I just finished "Ticket to Curlew" by Celia Barker Lottridge. It is a wonderful book for upper elementary students. It ties in social studies and learning about the past and settler experiences. Beyond that, I found the plot line emphasizes what is important in life compared to wants and extras....

After subbing in a grade 4 classroom, I began reading "The Chocolate Touch" by Patrick Skene Carling and I was hooked. It is a book I would recommend for any youth or fan of juvinile literature. Readers can emphathize with John Midas as he endures the consequences of making everything turn into...
